Age of the Dragons
I have yet to go through all the spells available for each class. Prior to choosing a spell, let me know what you’re looking at so I can ensure it fits the theme of the world.
All spells from the Elemental Evil Player’s Companion are available..
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: 10 feet
Components: V, S, M (a drop of blood, a piece of flesh, and a pinch of bone dust)
This spell creates an undead servant. Choose a pile of bones or a corpse of a Medium or Small humanoid within range. Your spell imbues the target with a foul mimicry of life, raising it as an undead creature. The target becomes a skeleton if you chose bones or a zombie if you chose a corpse (the DM has the creature’s game statistics). On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 60 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as to guard a particular chamber or corridor. If you issue no commands, the creature only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete. The creature is under your control for 24 hours, after which it stops obeying any command you’ve given it. To maintain control of the creature for another 24 hours, you must cast this spell on the creature again before the current 24-hour period ends. This use of the spell reasserts your control over the creature you have animated with this spell, rather than animating a new one You can only reassert your control if the creature was animated within 1 hour of its death. Failure to reassert control means that the creature becomes mindless and will attack nearby living creatures at random. You may only control one creature at a time with this spell.
Astral Projection requires Ethereium instead of jacinth. Portals may only be taken to planes where your body does not already exist.
Commune with Nature gives no information on sentient beings.
Detect Good and Evil now has an additional effect – the ability to detect a Pact Magic user. The caster may make an Insight check (DC 15 – the highest level spell the subject has access to).
Gate – There will be special rules about its use, discussed if that level is ever reached.
Identify – this spell is not nearly as specific as mentioned in the text. It will generally begin a quest to help you understand and utilize the magical properties of a magic item. Its second function works as normal.
Mordenkainen’s Private Sanctum is now a 6th-level abjuration
Otto’s Irresistible Dance is only available to Fae and Fae-pact Warlocks.
Reincarnate only works if the creature’s soul is free (in the Astral Law sense) and unbound. The race table will be adjusted to setting-appropriate races.
Revivify Only functions if the targets soul is free (in the Astral Law sense) and unbound.
Resurrection will require a quest to be used, and will only work if the creature’s soul is free (in the Astral Law sense) and unbound.
Tasha’s Hideous Laughter is restricted to Fae and Fae-pact warlocks.
Teleport requires an Ethereium Gem worth at least 500 gp for each person transported. This is consumed unless the target is a Permanent Circle.
Teleportation Circle is now a 6th level conjuration. An Etherium Gem worth at least 1000gp must be carried by each person to be teleported by a non-permanent circle. This gem is consumed in the process.
True Resurrection will require a quest to be used, and will only work if the creature’s soul is free (in the Astral Law sense) and unbound.
Wish is available only to immortals.
Word of Recall requires that a circle of ground Etherium worth 5,000gp is drawn around the location set as sanctuary. This Etherium need only be present during the first casting. Casting time is increased to 10 minutes.
